WHAT IS BOTOX?

Botox is a drug in the category of Neurotoxin. Botox injections work by weakening or paralyzing certain muscles or by blocking certain nerves. The effects last about three to six months.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BOTOX IN THE NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AREA?

If you are over the age of 18, are not allergic to milk protein (This is not the same as lactose intolerance), Botox in the Northern New Jersey Area may be for you. Dr. Tutela will ask you about your goals to determine where to administer Botox Cosmetic. The location, size, and use of the muscles that create furrow between your brows, on the sides of your eyes (crows feet) and forehead can vary among individuals.  Amount of Botox needed to get a complete response also varies between people.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM BOTOX?

You have 2 main types of wrinkles on your face.  Static wrinkles are present when you face is relaxed and not making an expression.  Dynamic wrinkles are present when facial muscles are activated and you create an expression.  Neurotoxins such as Botox Cosmetic work to stop muscle movement and keep your from creating dynamic wrinkles.  Over time and repeated use even static wrinkles become softened.

Within days, you may see a marked marked reduction in dynamic wrinkles in the treatment areas. Results can last for up to 4 months. Individual results may var

HOW LONG IS RECOVERY FROM BOTOX IN THE NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AREA?

The most common side effects are pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site.  You will be able to resume normal activity immediately after your injection.  You should avoid hot tubs, saunas or steam rooms for 24-48 hours as excessive heat may diminish the activity of Botox in NYC.  You should not use Botox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
