Neck Lift – Lower Rhytidectomy

This is one of my favorite operations because of the dramatic results seen and satisfaction experienced by my patients.  Your neck isn’t immune from the effects of gravity and collagen breakdown: the main culprits of age-related changes. A neck lift can turn back the clock on the two major signs of aging in the neck: loose and excess skin and a loose muscle commonly referred to as  the “turkey wattle.”

WHAT IS A NECK LIFT?

A neck lift—in which lax muscles are tightened and elevated to a more youthful position—combined with liposuction along the jawline can restore definition to the lower face for a lasting youthful look.

It is common to combine a neck lift procedure with other cosmetic surgery procedures such as a facelift, chin lift or liposuction to improves the jawline, jowls and cheek area.

Depending on your individual concerns, there are different types of neck lift procedures that I can offer to help improve the appearance of your neck.

Cervicoplasty: Excess neck skin is removed by making an incision under your chin and behind the ears. I will then will then lift and cut away excess skin, which will be secured with sutures or surgical-grade adhesive glue.

Platysmaplasty: Reduces the banded appearance of the neck. I will make incisions under the chin and behind the ears, Tighten the muscles in the middle and pull them to the sides to smooth the irregular contours found in the aged neck.
