Cheek Augmentation

Are your cheekbones uneven, or do you wish they were higher and more prominent? Then you may want to consider Cheek Augmentation.

WHAT IS CHEEK AUGMENTATION?

There are two commonly used ways to achieve cheek augmentation in the Northern New Jersey Area.  One is carried out by inserting a correctly sized implant through an incision in the upper gum line of your mouth and onto your cheek bone.  The other more commonly used technique takes advantage of commercially available “fillers” or by use of your own fat transferred onto your cheek bones.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR CHEEK AUGMENTATION IN THE NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AREA?

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your cheeks, if your cheeks look deflated, sunken, or hollow, you might be a good candidate for cheek augmentation in NYC.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM CHEEK AUGMENTATIONS?

The ultimate result will provide an enhanced facial contour and in appropriate cases, a more youthful appearance.

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY FROM CHEEK AUGMENTATION?

When using an implant, there can be a considerable amount of swelling associated with cheek augmentation in the Northern New Jersey Area; somewhat like that associated with the removal of wisdom teeth. Most of the swelling subsides during the first week, though there may still be persistent swelling for another week or two. This will subside and the implant will stabilize and fix in place. The sutures that close the incision site inside the mouth are absorbable and do not require removal. For implant based cheek augmentation, Dr. Tutela advises patients to be on a liquid diet for the first day and on soft, smooth foods for the next day or two to avoid irritation around the incision site.

When using fillers or fat to augment your cheek, there is considerably less downtime.  Swelling will typically last up to a week.
